Can you sound like an elephant? Or hop like a bunny? Our Time encourages your child to uncover an engaging musical world while building confidence, self-control and communications skills. Singing, imitating sounds, rhyming and object identification foster language skills. Creative movement to various musical “moods” develops a sense of balance, timing and spatial awareness. Listening and turn-taking encourage blossoming social skills.

Kindermusik Our Time is designed for children 1 1⁄2 years to 3 years of age. Along with an accompanying parent or caregiver, children meet weekly for a 45-minute class and enjoy singing, moving, listening and interacting socially, and playing simple instruments. Exploration Time encourages a child's discovery of specially designed instruments, textures, sounds and movements; language skills are fostered with singing, sound imitation, and vocal play; Music & Movement Story Time encourages emergent literacy skills; and creative dancing affirms a child's urge to move.

Imagine the aroma of baking cookies, the coziness of the family kitchen, the chatter among sisters, brothers and grandmas, granddads, mom and dad, and the anticipation and excitement of having friends come to visit. These moments at home at home are times to be shared and treasured. These special moments are captured in Milk & Cookies.

As in the previous units of Our Time, the central focus of Milk & Cookies is the toddler's need for security balanced with his need for independence. Milk & Cookies songs and activities promote interaction between parent and child where the parent gently guides their child's learning and the process of scaffolding takes place. Capturing the security, excitement and familiarity of "at home" moments is the ideal theme for empowering the parent to act as teacher through scaffolding. What better way for parents to lead their child than with familiar, everyday home activities such as cooking in the kitchen, dusting and washing clothes?

Milk and Cookies Home Materials: The child's at home materials are packaged in their own distinctive kit. The Milk & Cookies At Home kit consists of a Home Activity book, 2 CDs, 2 literature books and a stir xylophone. These items are packaged together in a high quality, deep purple insulated lunch bag.

Imagine That! takes you and your child on a musical journey of discovery and exploration…a journey limited only by the power of imagination. Pretend play activities are integrated with music, vocal development, storytelling, movement and literature to capture your child’s potential to learn and to encourage cognitive and literacy skills, creativity and individuality.

Kindermusik Imagine That! is designed for active, energetic, enthusiastic, and imaginative 3- and 4-year-olds and encourages socialization, sharing, and participating in group activities. Singing becomes a focus for enhancing the preschooler's vocal development as her expressive language is just beginning to emerge. Parents are invited to participate in the last 15 minutes for Sharing Time of the 45-minute class.

Our Imagine That! unit will be Hello Weather! Let’s Play Together. Sunshine, clouds, snow, rain, wind and storms …Mother Nature offers so many variables. This unit takes advantage of those variables to provide three- and four-year-olds with a myriad of creative, weather-related musical adventures. Imagine creating musical storm sounds with a drum and exploring the pitter patter of rain and the whoosh of the wind. Dance along with jingle bells while gliding along an imaginary ice pond or enjoy throwing pretend snowballs. We will create delightful home activity projects like making wind chimes, rain hats, sleigh bells and snow boots.

Musically speaking, children will explore the long, smooth sounds of legato and the short, quick sounds of staccato. They’ll learn about fast and slow tempos. And the use of their very own ankle bells will help develop steady beat in the lower half of their bodies. Plus children will experience the contrasting sounds between a wood block and a tone bar. Hello Weather, Let’s Play Together offers some favorite familiar songs, including Jingle Bells, Mulberry Bush and Over the River and Through the Wood. There are two CDs included in the home materials.
